So if you don't have a showroom, how can I look at products?

I have contacts in the industry at just about every single distributor in Dallas who have their own showrooms you can visit. The selection is far greater than any retail store and their staff are first class. Retailers often carry only a select few products so this way, you're able to see a more comprehensive line. The other option is I bring the samples right to your home.

Do you offer any sort of warranty?

All labor is backed for 2 full years.

Do you have references?

Yes, as large as the Geneva Convention. Just ask.

What’s your service like compared to a store?

Well, I show up on time. My installers show up – on time. I spend quality time with you before, during and after every job. I have total involvement in the whole process so you're only given the most accurate information.

A retail store will bounce you from salesman, to manager to another store to installation to corporate and make you crack The Da Vinci Code before getting a straight answer. Something that could be taken care of in 20 minutes takes 2 weeks. I saw it too many times.

You can expect me at your home frequently during your project. I barge in on my guys to check and make sure everything is ok. I also ensure we leave your home in better condition than we found it. So from a personal service front, there's no comparison.

I’ve had a bad experience with a contractor before – we gave him money and he disappeared. How will I know you’re not the same way?

Well, so have I. I’ve dealt with frauds, liars and thieves who give you their word then vanish without giving you what you agreed on.

But here's the thing - I am NOT that contractor who took your money. So please don't compare me to him.

I do not have the luxury of hiding behind a retail store name. All I have is my real name and I work extremely hard to preserve the great reputation I have with clients and folks within the industry. I have no intention of tarnishing that and jeopardizing my livelihood for one job.

In fact, I have clients who had this exact same objection and I ended up doing their work so feel free to contact them to verify I'm the Real Deal.

Who are your installers?

I’ve known my guys for 9 years. They have squeaky clean backgrounds, get practically zero call backs, are on time, very courteous and speak good English. They can also lay floors like nobody else. They've worked on the simple to the ridiculous so take my word for it when I say they know what they are doing.

What do you think of putting different floors in my house – will it look awkward and affect the resale of the home?

I pretty much look at an area and if it’s a relatively open floor plan, you really want to stick with the same floor throughout and not chop it up with different products. If the area is separated by walls or doors, then there’s no harm putting whatever floor you like for that particular room. If someone has fallen in love with home and doesn't like one or two floors in a room or two, they'll still buy the house. Relax!

Can I scratch my wood floor?

Yeah, you can but I don’t really recommend it because it won't look good. All wood will scratch eventually. Use common sense and remove surface dust when you clean your home, preferably with a Swiffer. I also recommend using furniture coasters. Don’t play fetch with your 275lb St. Bernard/Werewolf mix on your wood floor or have high heel races on it and it should hold up for the life of your home.

Wood Vs Laminate – Which One?

Answer: Lifestyle.

If you’re looking for a floor that can take abuse – and a lot of it – such as soccer cleats, Tonka trucks, high heels and a herd of stallions then laminate floor is the way to go. These floors are built to take a beating. Yes, they are louder than wood. Yes, they don’t add as much value to the home. But they are quicker and cheaper to install (and repair) as well as being highly stain, fade and wear resistant.

If you want to invest in your home and add value to it and don’t like the “sound”, look or feel of laminate then there’s no more luxurious choice than wood floors. They literally transform the feel and aura of a room – from a hand scraped floor that gives a warmer feel to beautiful walnuts that tie everything in.

All wood will scratch. After all, it’s a tree.

Do your guys work weekends?

Yes. And on their birthdays, holidays and everything in between.
